“My Little World of Art – The Story Behind Sartsy”

Hi i am shahala jasmine,Art has always been close to my heart.I am the creator of Sartsy, my small world filled with drawing, painting, craftworks, handmade gifts, and everything colourful.I grew up in Kerala, and from a young age, I loved being around art. After completing my 10th standard, I joined an Art and Craft Course in Perinthalmanna. That course opened a huge creative world for me. I learned so many beautiful things, and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

During that course, I learned how to create:

woolen thread works

glass painting

flower painting

bottle art

clay craft

bags made with beads

coffee painting

handmade mats

woolen flowers

small woolen gowns

and many other creative crafts

I enjoyed every moment of that course. That was the time I understood something important about myself , I truly loved being an artist.Creating things with my hands made me feel alive, happy, and confident.I still remember how proud I felt after completing each artwork. Those early skills stayed with me, and they helped shape my creative path later in life.

When I was doing my degree, the COVID lockdown happened. Suddenly, everything stopped. Colleges closed, classes shifted online, and I had so much free time at home. At first, it felt strange and boring, but slowly I started looking for something meaningful to do.One day, I got the idea to make a special anniversary gift for my husband. Instead of buying something, I wanted to create something personal. So, I tried drawing a portrait of me and my husband — and honestly, I wasn’t even sure how it would turn out. It was the first detailed drawing I attempted. But when I finished it, something beautiful happened.I felt proud,I felt confident. That drawing became the spark that lit up this entire journey. It made me realise how much I loved creating art. It was the beginning of everything.

After my first attempt, I wanted to improve my skills. So I searched online for ideas and techniques. That’s when I found a useful tool called Rapid Resizer. It helped me understand outlines, shapes, and stencil styles better.Once I started using Rapid Resizer, my drawings began to improve. Every attempt looked better than the previous one.My husband appreciated my work. My friends also encouraged me, telling me how neat and beautiful my stencil drawings were. Their support gave me a lot of confidence to continue.

With encouragement from the people around me, I decided to take a small but bold step —
I opened my Instagram art page and named it Sartsy.I started posting all my drawings, stencilworks, paintings, crafts, and small creations. I was worried at first, but something amazing happened…People loved my work. They supported me. They encouraged me.Slowly, I started gaining regular followers and well-wishers.Because of the good response on Instagram, I started getting customized stencil drawing orders.
People wanted:

  • portraits of couples

  • family pictures

  • kids’ photos

  • gift pieces

  • framed artworks

I received many orders where customers asked me to draw, frame the artwork, and courier it to them. This was the moment I realised something very special.Sartsy is not just a business page.It is my creative world.
